Who's Packing Your Parachute?

Charles Plumb was a US Navy jet pilot in Vietnam. After 75 combat missions, his plane was destroyed by a surface-to-air missile. Plumb ejected and parachuted into enemy hands. He was captured and spent 6 years in a communist Vietnamese prison. He survived the ordeal and now lectures on lessons learned from that experience!

One day, when Plumb and his wife were sitting in a
restaurant, a man at another table came up and said, ' You're Plumb! You flew jet fighters in Vietnam from the aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk. You were shot down! 'How in the world did you know that?' asked Plumb. 'I packed your parachute,' the man replied. Plumb gasped in surprise and gratitude. The man pumped his hand and said, 'I guess it worked!' Plumb assured him, 'It sure did. If your chute hadn't worked, I wouldn't be here today.'

Plumb couldn't sleep that night, thinking about
that man. Plumb says, 'I kept wondering what he had looked like in a Navy uniform: a white hat; a bib in the back; and bell-bottom trousers. I wonder how many times I might have seen him and not even said 'Good morning, how are you?' or anything because, you see, I was a fighter pilot and he was just a sailor.'
Plumb thought of the many hours the sailor had spent at a long wooden table in the bowels of the ship, carefully weaving the shrouds and folding the silks of each chute, holding in his hands each time the fate of someone he didn't know.
Now, Plumb asks his audience, 'Who's packing your parachute?' Everyone has someone who provides what they need to make it through the day. He also points out that he needed many kinds of parachutes when his plane was shot down over enemy territory - he needed his physical parachute, his mental parachute, his emotional parachute, and his spiritual parachute. He called on all these supports before reaching safety.
Sometimes in the daily challenges that life gives us, we miss what is really important. We may fail to say hello, please, or thank you, congratulate someone on something wonderful that has happened to them, give a compliment, or just do something nice for no reason. As you go through this week, this month, this year, recognize people who pack your parachutes.
I am sending you this as my way of thanking you for your part in packing my parachute. And I hope you will send it on to those who have helped pack yours! Sometimes, we wonder why friends keep forwarding jokes to us without writing a word. Maybe this could explain it! When you are very busy, but still want to keep in touch, guess what you do - you forward jokes.
And to let you know that you are still remembered, you are still important, you are still loved, you are still cared for, guess what you get? A forwarded joke. So my friend, next time when you get a joke, don't think that you've been sent just another forwarded joke, but that you've been thought of today and your friend on the other end of your computer wanted to send you a smile, just helping you pack your parachute.
Wishing you much love, peace and good health this coming new year-2016

Human Values

Human Values - 108 Sub-Values

Human Values are the five pillars, they can also form the hanger on which the cloth of daily life is based, be it at home, work, recreation or service activity.

Human values are the qualities that already lie within each of us like a golden effulgence and can be drawn forth into consciousness in all our cultures through spiritual process, eliciting the 5 human values latent in every person.
The five human values are the essential ingredients for good Character, which is the end product of education and the catalysts for sweetening and strengthening the daily life curriculum into something that can benefit society, rather than harming it; the pivotal foci for self-learning which fits one for life.
Human values provide the Unity in our apparent diversity. We are the sculptors of our own character, chipping away and dissolving those thoughts, words and actions. Sai Baba On Educare

Loves Destroyer

Loves Destroyer,

When the green waves of jealousy begins to flow:

What drives us to give life to such a stirring emotion?

Jealousy is an emotion, and the word typically refers to the thoughts and feelings of insecurity.

Think about the thoughts we have when we feel jealous. Lurking behind the paranoia toward others, the criticisms toward a perceived third-party, reported speech, degrading, deforming ones character are often critical, harmful thoughts toward us.

Thoughts like, "He/she thinks that they are so smart?" can quickly turn into "He/she is so much prettier, handsome/thinner/more successful than me!" Actually we are the ones to manifest our worst fears, anxieties, anger, greed and hatred by allowing this green wave to consume us."

These critical inner voices and the feelings of humiliation that they foster can be more painful to us than the threat itself. This negative self - coaching accompanies us into our personal and professional relationships and instils in us a level of doubt and criticism that keeps us from perceiving ourselves as truly lovable.

Thus, life becomes fruitless, foiled and futile when you give birth to the green waves and nurture them lovingly.  The choice is an individual one. With love nn

Graciously Blessed

She always had a sweet come-at-able, door’s always open ambience about her.

Her love was the cradle of contentedness slaking that thirst for comfort. No matter what the situation she was able to mend the whole caboodle with one click of a finger. I always thought she had some power in those fingers. I soon learnt that it was a mother’s love and an extremely powerful love.

Her courage with an inner strength held me in shipshape footing. Her dauntless stout heartedness brought into being my very own stalwartness.

She lavished upon me a quiet legacy one of courage, hope and faith in life. That in life whatever the situation is you can with courage, hope and faith overcome trials and tribulations and emerge with your dignity intact.

I believe in her legacy for it’s worked for her and it is working splendidly for me.

She has graced me with luxuriant blessings. And I gladly define my life by her legacy which I have lived and will continue to live by.

Ever so gracious for you Ma!

Shoe less! Shoes galore!

Self examination and soul searching can be done upon reflection on ones past and examination of the present.  How one makes use of his shoe less days and his shoe galore days is left entirely up to him or her.

It is positive to relish in the belief that truth sets us free. And that to become a chameleon would only bind us to the prison of fickleness.

My morning’s musings;

There stands a little biddy girl of 3 in front of her home which she considered the best in the world. Even when the wind blew its wrath through the slats on the walls, and she was cold she just didn’t exist but lived.

Even though she knew then and now that being shoe less was due to poverty she still with fondness tenderly enfolds these moments in her heart.

Her feet were bare and she remembers crunching autumn leaves underfoot. She felt the splendour of nature then and still fondly remembers those moments with much zeal today. Some days she yearned for her feet to be dressed in shoes, especially when crunching went very wrong and her feet would be blistered from the rough ground.

She remembers a day not long ago when she crunched beautiful autumn leaves. She looked down at her feet and smiled a sigh. Her feet were not blistered anymore. It was warm and cosy. With the cosiest leather boots that kept them toasty. But she never forgot those days of crunching autumn leaves with bare feet that ended up bleeding and blistered.

Her past is what motivates her to be wholesome today.  She thanks that which was broken for within the breaks light shone through making the path forward easy enough to see. She is what she is and will continue to be who she is. Body, mind and spirit a whole.

Life Giving Sustenance

The life giving sustenance  ‘’water’’

We take this life giving force for granted whilst right around us there are millions of people left without. I sometimes wonder if humans will ever douse the flame of thirst suffered by their fellow comrades.

Ceiling on Desires

Ceiling on Desires

We live in homes with ceilings over the rooftops which protects us from all sorts of hazards. Our bodies were made to withstand a certain limit of good and bad. If the roof had no ceiling it will be an ill thatched roof and the harshness will pour in and in time our bodies will be consumed by ailments.  Likewise humans are a bundle of emotions and desires. We were created to consume only so much of these bundles. When there is an overload an imbalance will occur bringing about disharmony between body, mind and spirit. The ultimate creator of harm on one self is the ‘Mind’. I have reached an awareness that by placing a ceiling over my desires I can bend the ego, mend the mind and bring an end to the disharmony.

Another Year Gone By

Another Year Gone By!

Time ticked away
In life’s sway.

Here I am, gone no where

In love I thrived

Wisdom I imbibed.

Common sense never forsaken
Values being the essence

Life’s experiences never for granted taken.

No excuses to make
None to fake.

In life’s game for me it’s fair

In truth to bear, any crosses may come my way.

A sturdy journey one of fulfilling humbleness I shall undertake in life’s sway.

No Charge

https://youtu.be/EPSXFkiTRmo

"No Charge"

Our little boy came up to his mama in the kitchen this evening
While she was fixing supper
And he handed her a piece of paper he'd been writin' on
And after wipin' her hands on her apron she read it and this is what it said

For mowin' the yard 5 dollars
For makin' my own bed this week 1 dollar
For going to the store 50 cents
For playin' with my little brother while you went shoppin' 25 cents
For taking out the trash 1 dollar
For gettin' a good report card 5 dollars
And for rakin' the yard 2 dollars
Total amount owed 14 dollars and 75 cents

Well as mama looked at him standin' there expectanly
And I could see the memories flashin' through her mind
And so she picked up the pen and turnin' the paper over
This is what she wrote and I read it to him

For the nine months she carried you growing inside her no charge
For the nights we sat up with you doctoring you praying for you no charge
For the time and the tears that you've caused through the years there's no charge
When you added all up the full cost of our love is no charge

For the nights filled with dread and the worries ahead no charge
For advice and for knowledge and the cost of your college no charge
For the toys food and clothes and for wiping your nose there's no charge
When you added all up the full cost of our love is no charge

Well when I finished readin' he had big tears in his eyes
And he looked up at his mother and he said mama I sure do love you
Then he took the pen and in great big letter he wrote Paid In Full

When you added all up the cost of real love is no charge

The Best Business Is To Mind Your Own Business

Over the year’s life’s lessons have taught me a powerful truth. This holds firm in my value system which I have passed on to my own children and many people around me. ‘’The idle mind is the devils workshop.’’
We come with a source of energy which when used correctly can manifest in great inner and outer successes in life. When this energy is manipulated in the incorrect way you become a failure in both the spiritual and the phy...sical life.
One tends to stagnate like a putrid over congested river and eventually this river will stagnate and dry out. And we are aware that life cannot take growth in a place that lacks nourishment.
If this energy is manipulated in the correct way and is projected towards one’s self, growth will take place in leaps and bounds in the spiritual and physical sense. You will never cultivate anger, jealousy, hatred and greed which are the four fast friends’ of evil which when given life will entwine itself entangling you in disharmony, bringing with it much dissatisfaction which will be labelled by yourself as failure.

Let me tell you that this is not simple to attain. 'Discrimination' is the master key to setting us free from all negative aspects which will enable success and disable failure. So take that step to use up your most valuable treasure of energy to discriminate, mend and bend the mind-thoughts which will help you to control your senses, thus preventing you from minding and tending to the business of others.
I wish you in this precious moment many successes in both the spiritual and the physical. With love nn.

Falcon

Sharing An Experience;

This Was One Moment In Time For Me Exactly Two Years Ago When The Falcon Decided It Was My shoulder That It Wanted And not It's Masters.
Thus I was curious about it's symbolism. Upon reflection of the two years which passed by I see the absolute truth.
...
Throughout history, culture and myth, Falcons symbolize superiority, spirit, light, freedom and aspiration. The Falcon is a solar emblem for success, victory and rising above a situation.
At its core, the Falcon represents visionary power, wisdom, and guardianship. This powerful bird awakens visionary power, and leads you to your life purpose. The Falcon carries with it a message of transition and change – perhaps in your vocation, work, career, etc.
The fact that this Peregrine chose to show itself to you is a powerful message in itself. This is a call for you to pay attention to the your performance, your function, your actions.
Falcons encourage us to calculate and strategize. If we have a goal, Falcons beckon us to make plans and strategies to obtain these goals. Falcons are all about focus – strong, one-pointed focus. When they show themselves to us, we are being called to focus on our desires and our goals, and do what is necessary to bring our desires into our reality.

Get Connected

Get Connected!

The moment you open your heart to the acceptance that you are a blessed miracle in life, you will feel connected to all that is. And all that is, is your true reality, is within you.
Allow it's embracement, bask in its love, happiness, peace and harmony.
Look at yourself daily and say to yourself;

I accept my beauty inside and outside.
I thrive on my true reality, that which is infinite love.
I nurture that which will create positivism in my life.
I cherish the miracle that I am.
Thus, you will begin at the root of all beginnings.
In doing so your hearts door is open to receive.
I do not accept negativity of any sort.
I will do everything possible to feel wholeness, for wholeness is holiness.
I will embrace peace within me and all that is around me.
I will focus on self love, for I firstly need to love myself before loving anything else in creation.
I am.

TRUTH IS THE DOORWAY

Truth is the doorway, Peace is the key
Step through in goodness, such love you'll see.
The Lord is watching, He will show you the way
To bliss and freedom with every new day.

(Excerpt from the Legacy Of Love by Nelline Naidoo)

TRUTH

In fact, this truth is being experienced  by every human being directly. Just reflect on yourself for a moment, closing your eyes. "Who am I?" What did you see on closing your eyes?

(Excerpt from the book I Am I by Nelline Naidoo and Ben Gerritsen)

LIFE'S TWISTS

In a blink of an eye
In a toss of the moment
Life takes a twist and turn
May life never go pear shaped
But heart shaped
Filled with love and pleasantness
And overflowing loveliness

(Excerpt from The Book Of Blessings by Nelline Naidoo)

CARING

Loving is the deal
In kindness it peals
Stretching out my hand
Opening up my heart
Caringly pouring out
To those crying in need.
